August 14, 2020 -- Check out our pictures of Rosie Dee and Delbert.  They are a Scottish Highland / Red Angus mix.  They are 8 months old this month and are available for sale. Also, Mark's Mart in Northport, AL, is now selling our free range eggs.  Please support us and this partner vendor by buying some of our eggs.

 October 21, 2018 -- We enjoyed hosting Girl Scout Troop # 150 at the farm. We had a hay ride, talked about farm life, and painted pumkins.  What a fun day!

February 23, 2018 -- Calvin has been sold and is now a sire bull in Ellisville, MS. 

November 2017 -- Our  Katie Farms Highland Red™  F1's are here!  Amber was born on 11/9; Rocky was born on 11/15; and Henry was born on 11/29.  Check out their photos in the "Our Cattle" gallery.  

November 10, 2017 -- Chester, a Scottish Highland calf, was born on 11/10.  Check out his photo in the "Our Cattle" gallery.  

October 3, 2017 -- Do you use Facebook?  If so, check out our Katie Farms page.  We have a picture a day to keep folks updated on what is happening at the farm on an ongoing basis.  Special days to watch are Caturday, free-range Friday, and our employee of the week each Monday.

 September 16, 2017 -- Kalli, Snow, and Ginger have been SOLD. They have joined Denver at Red Briar Highlands in Ashland, AL.  

May 12, 2017 --  Coming soon -- We are crossing Scottish Highland bulls with Red Angus heifers.  The offspring will be Katie Farms Highland RedTM.  See the "Our Cattle" part of our website to see the bull and one of the heifers. 

 August 19, 2016 -- Denver has been SOLD.  He will remain with us for a few months, but he will soon be a sire bull at Red Briar Highlands in Ashland, AL. 

April 28, 2016 -- Coker has been sold to Turtle Creek  Farms in Chelsea, AL. 

July 1, 2015 -- Apologies for the delay in posting to the site.  We have been working! We are very busy with our row crops.  Please see the photo of our heirloom tomatoes that we just posted.  Also, we have a new addition to our farm family.  Calvin was born to Georgia on June 7th.  We have posted a photo of him too.  Isn't he a cutie?  Also, we have a new restaurant partner.  Please be sure to visit T-Town Cafe in Tuscaloosa and tell them that Katie Farms sent you. 

May 3, 2015 --  The busy growing season is underway.  We do not accept farm visitors at this time. Farm tours are available from October through April.  Call ahead to make an appointment. Of course you can visit us at any time here or at our Facebook page to keep up with our activities at the farm. 

 March 8, 2015 -- We have posted some new photos in the "Our Cattle" section of the website.  Check them out and consider having your next family picnic with us at the farm.  Call us to find out about our rental policies.

March 6, 2015 -- We have a limited supply of farm fresh eggs available for sale. To reserve your dozen call 535-0066.  

March 5, 2015 -- We enjoyed attending the annual meeting of the Tuscaloosa Farmer's Coop and visiting with the local farmers and ranchers who produce food and other agricultural producs in our community. When was the last time that you visited your community coop?  You may be surprised at the products available including Katie Farms products.  We are in several Alabama coops. Drop by and tell them that Katie Farms sent you.

January 31, 2015 -- We enjoyed a meet the farmer event at the Homewood Piggly Wiggly in Birmingham.   We provided samples of our products and visited with store customers. 

January 19, 2015 -- Bunk has been sold and is the new sire bull at Hidden Oaks Acres in Indiantown, Florida. 

November 22, 2014 -- Save the date!  We will be at the Homewood Piggly for a meet the farmer / product tasting event on December 6 from 11 to 2.  Come see us!

October 5, 2014 -- Come camera hunt with us.  There are no gun hunts  at Katie Farms, but camera hunting trips are being booked now. This is a fun outing for individuals or groups of up to two people. Afternoon hunts are $70.00 a session (for up to two people for that price).  Book your appoitment now. Appointments must be made in advance. 

August  17, 2014 -- We have been cutting and baling hay, and we are are coming to the end of our summer vegetable growing season. Rita, a turkey, has hatched three chicken chicks.  Check out her picture with the chicks that we posted today.

June 14, 2014 --  We are harvesting blueberries, blackberries, tomatoes, potatoes, zepher squash, and flying saucer squash now.  Ask for them at Epiphany and Evangeline's restaurants.

May 27, 2014 -- We are pleased to announce that we are rolling out 2 new products this week: hot and mild salsa (made with heirloom tomatoes) and hot and mild pickled okra.  Please check with our partner stores to try these new offerings.  

May 12, 2014 -- We will be at the River Run Piggly Wiggly in Mountain Brook today from 3 - 6. Come see us and other Alabama vendors. We are looking forward to visiting with everyone and sharing samples of our goodies.

April 25, 2014 --  Walker County folks, we are coming to your Farmer's Coop at 135 Curry Hwy. in Jasper. We plan to get to your store today for product set up. Please spread the word that you can now get Katie Farms watermelon pickles, jellies, and pickled peaches there starting today.

March 11, 2014 -- We are pleased to announce that our products will be available in the Fayette County Farmers Coop as of this week.  The coop is located at 615 Columbus Street, East.  The phone number is: 205-932-5901.  They will carry our scuppernong, muscadine, and blackberry jellies; our blueberry jam; our watermelon rind pickles; and our pickled peaches.  Stop by and try some farm fresh goodness.

November 2, 2013 -- She's a girl! Snow gave birth to a 32 pound beauty at about 10:00 a.m.   Mama and baby are doing fine.  Ginger's picture is now posted. 

October 30, 2013 -- We had a great day at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  We were honored to be part of the Human Animal Bond Lecture Series.

September 19, 2013 -- Katie Farms products will be available in a second Birmingham Piggly Wiggly location this Friday.  Check out our products at the 3800 River Run Drive location. Visit us there on Monday from 3 to 6 pm.  We will be part of the Taste of Alabama event and will have product samples.

September 17, 2013 -- Katie Farms products are moving into the Birmingham market this week. We are introducing our jellies, jam, watermelon rind pickles, and pickled peaches on Wednesday in the Homewood Piggly Wiggly store located at 3000 Montgomery Highway. Check us out Birmingham!

August 28, 2013 -- "Cooking with Katie Farms" will now be a weekly feature in the Northport Gazette.  It will include a recipe, and we hope it will encourage folks to cook some homegrown goodness.

August 24, 2013 -- Katie Farms t-shirts are now available for $10.00 each.   Sizes: small, medium, large, XL, and XXL.  Colors: blue, aqua, mint green, butter-cream yellow.   You can buy them at Jon’s office in downtown Tuscaloosa, or you can mail your check and request to: Mainstreet Developments, 2615 6th St., Suite 8, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.  Make your check out to: Katie Farms.  Add the cost of each shirt and $5.00 for shipping and handling.  We can only ship within the continental United States.

July 3, 2013 -- Congratulations to Jon Fleenor on being named the 2013 Area III winner of the Alabama Association of Conservation District's Outstanding Conservation Farmer of the Year.  There will be an awards ceremony on July 31st.

July 2, 2013 -- Exciting news!!  --  Piggly Wiggly is partnering with Katie Farms to distribute our jellies, jams and preserves in their four Tuscaloosa area stores.  We have spiced peaches, watermelon rind pickles, and blueberry, blackberry, muscadine, and scuppernong jellies or jams.

Exciting cattle news! We are happy to announce that we have purchased a sire bull who we call Mike. His registration number is 49292, and his registered name is Bwatch3. He is the grandson of Black Watch Emmett, the 2004 American Highland Cattle Association Show Bull of the Year. We hope to have some pictures of Mike posted on the website soon.
